Join Pure Abilities Recreational Therapists, Music Therapists, and Behavior Consultants at this years Sensory Friendly Dr. Seuss Party brought to you by My Autism Ally.

Because you were a partner of the 2023 Autism Acceptance Walk, you are getting advance notification of this upcoming event opportunity.

As we all know, winter gets soooo... long - so we're planning a bit of fun to look forward to.   You also know that My Autism Ally likes to do events that are unique and FUN!   So to celebrate Reading across America and Dr. Seuss's birthday, we are once again partnering with Purdue Fort Wayne School of Education to put together a sensory friendly Spring into Reading- Dr. Seuss Party and you are invited to be part of the fun!  This event is FREE.  Free for attendees and FREE for you to attend and hand out information about your services to attendees.  The event is Saturday, April 13th at the Walb Ballroom on the PFW campus - 2101 East Coliseum Boulevard  Fort Wayne, IN 46805.  Here is a campus map to help you. .https://www.pfw.edu/campus-map

The focus of the event is to celebrate reading, and have some fun with crafts and games.  We will also be handing out free books to the kids in attendance.   There will be light refreshments- cookies and water for vendors and attendees. Last year's event had over 250 attendees and expect a similar if not greater turn out this year.

BUT, there are some rules that need to be followed and additional information you need to know below.

  1. Each agency must pick a Dr. Seuss Book and decorate their table and if you wish can include the surrounding area.   You also must provide an activity- craft or game that is related to the book you choose.  I can't wait to see your creativity and what you come up with!  The book choice is first come, first serve.  All you need to do is reply back to this email with your choice.  I will let you know if it's available or taken. Yes, you may use the same book as last year, but you must let me know ASAP!

  2. There is a limited amount of space available.   Yes, you may say you're attending and then figure out your book and activity/craft later.

  3. This is an information fair- with a bit of fun.  Nothing is allowed to be for sale and this is not a fundraiser.

  4. Each agency will be provided with 2 - 8 foot tables and 4 chairs- more chairs will be available if needed. .  One table for information and one for "fun".  Please do not use anything with water or small beads as a part of your activities.  Bubbles and Orbieez are NOT allowed!

  5. If you need electricity, please let me know in advance.  It will affect your placement at the event and we have a limited number of outlets available.

  6. We recommend that you have more than one person staffing your table.  One may be fine for the information area, but you will need additional assistance with your craft/game.  You may send as many as you wish. This is why we are not charging you.  We want you to put that money into your display and craft/game. This is a great way to share your creativity with the community and get into the spirit of the event.  Costumes are encouraged and welcome.

  7. Again, the event is SATURDAY, April 13th from noon-3pm at Walb Ballroom on PFW campus.  Set up can start at 11am that morning.  Tear down will not begin until 3pm.
