Join Pure Abilities Rec Therapist and behavior management services at the Elkhart County Fair!
The Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds strives to be an inclusive environment for everyone in our community. As part of these efforts, we are excited to announce the combination of our Disabilities Awareness Day and Special Groups program into one entity, Disabilities and Special Groups Day! The 2021 Disabilities & Special Groups Day will be on Monday, July 26 in Heritage Park.
This event will allow individuals of any age with any type of disability, and youth from underprivileged situations (Boys & Girls Club, Tolson Center, etc) to visit and enjoy the Fair without any barriers. Each participant will receive free admission into the Fair and four (4) free carnival rides from 1 pm - closing.
We will also provide a sensory-friendly carnival experience from 10:00 am to noon for guests with sensory processing differences. During this time, there will be minimal lights and sounds permitted and rides will be slowed down to provide an accommodating and positive experience for guests with sensory sensitivities or challenges. Entertainment will be provided on the Heritage Park Stage.
Individuals must sign up through one of our approved partner organizations to participate. Caregivers will also receive free admission.
